UG Abroad is the amalgamation of common values, passion and vision shared by both Yogesh Jaju and Mandar Kamath of mentoring students aspiring to study under-graduation abroad.
UG Abroad is not our profession, but our passion, that has conceived this venture. Leveraging on our synergies, we help students pursue education abroad with maximum scholarships and financial aid.
Our goal is to coach students in a holistic way right from the beginning of this enduring, yet an exciting journey, all the way until they land into the university of their dreams….and, even beyond!
We are not your typical counsellor – while a fledgling counsellor attempts to map a university to the student, we do the exact opposite – we map the student to the university!
Myth Busters
The presumption that under graduate studies in the US will burn a big hole in your parent’s pocket has probably deprived many deserving students of such life changing opportunity. The overall costs, may sound initially dissuading, but are now very much affordable to even students from middle class families – thanks to the various options such as scholarships, financial aid, post-study work options, educational loans, etc., that help alleviate the overall costs.
This is a completely baseless assumption! In fact, now it is not STEM, but STEAM (A for fine arts, agriculture, architecture, etc.,) that is a career “hotspot” for students. Many reputed universities offer courses in the ‘A’ streams for students aspiring career in these fields. There is an abundant demand for skills in these niche career areas as well.
This is another cooked-up fright that many students are harboring in their mind. On the contrary, most of the US universities are very convivial and supportive of international students, who add to their diversity quotient. In fact, fellow US students are very friendly and amicable in nature. There is a complete parity when it comes to treatment of international students. Believe us – the global environment will only help you thrive in your academic career and beyond!
I engaged with UG Abroad to get more scholarships and they met most of my expectations. I liked the various tabulated university recommendations with scholarship options they provided me. I’d recommend them to prospective students for their thorough understanding of the application process and pinpointing university specific scholarships. I believe it would be worth it if UG Abroad effectively helps with networking and internship/co-op assistance further in my journey. Overall I feel satisfied.
We were doing this for the first time so we wanted to get a good counselling service. UG Abroad met most of our expectation and we liked their college suggestions, ranking of colleges, previous student records & large database of previously consulted students.
As parents of students who have done this journey you have a lot to contribute and advise Every College admission journey is different so keep track of those nuances so that those data points can be used for other students. Most of our expectations related to LORs, Essay reviewing, Consulting for Common Applications, Coalition App and Financial Aid were met. Some more technical guidance on FAFSA – especially things like how critical is Student Asset Component in determining the EFC, is expected. We liked their contribution on essay reviews and timelines of responses and always being accessible. UG Abroad is great team to work with, engage them early in the process!
I received scholarships at most universities you recommended and you met most of our expectations. You have a lot of knowledge about universities that are likely to give scholarships and most of the time have contacts of current students that go there.
